J.Leino & Blues Guys,
Real Blues Experience !
J. Leino & Blues Guys comes from Finland and it was born in the
beginning of 1991. The members of the band have played earlier in several
Finnish top bluesbands (like Chicago Overcoat) for years until they put
their talents together to form one band.
Since that they have played allover Finland and also in Norway,
Sweden, Hungary and Estonia.

Festival ‘98 (Sweden), Paks Blues Jazz Rock Festival ´99 (Paks, Hungary),
Hell Blues Festival ´99 (Norway) etc…
J. Leino and Blues Guys released their first CD called BLUES SKIES
(Amigo AMFCD 1002) in the fall of 1991 and it was a total critique success
and brought the Band in common knowledge among the Scandinavian blues-audience.
The band also appears on a Finnish collection (published by Finnish
Blues Society) MORE LIVING FINNISH BLUES (1992) and on a collection ALL
THAT BLUES FROM SWEDEN, VOL. 1 (1993) (published by Scandinavian Blues
Association in Sweden).
Band’s second CD DON’T HESITATE (Amigo AMFCD 1017) was released in
November 1997 and it continued the critical success. Bruce Iglauer - the
President of Alligator Records from Chicago - wrote following:
”It was a very pleasant surprise. Most European blues bands (and
a lot of American ones) don’t get this deep into the music or play and
sing with this much good taste… All in all, this is better than 90% of
what I receive from USA bands… My compliments on a fine, tastefully performed
record that (unlike so many others) has very well focused intensity and
a true blues feel.”
The Blues Guys appears also on a various artists compilation BLUES POWER! - THE RADIOMAFIA ROOTS EVENING SESSIONS! VOLUME 1 (2000). One of album’s highlights is Blues Guys performing ’Sawdust’ which was recorded on Radiomafia live broadcast on 28th June 1999.
The third long-play CD FROM NOW ON… (Blues Guys Music BGCD 1001)
was released in May 2001 and is still distributed by Swedish Amigo Records…

J.LEINO & BLUES GUYS syntyi alkuvuodesta 1991. Bändin jäsenet ovat toki tehneet blues-musiikkia lähes koko ikänsä huipputason bändeissä (mm. CHICAGO OVERCOAT!). Yhtye on esiintynyt lukuisissa klubeissa ja useilla festareilla ympäri Suomen, myös Ruotsissa, Virossa, Norjassa sekä Unkarissa. Bändin soitossa on sekä menoa että meininkiä maustettuna muutamilla tunnelmabiiseillä; vastaanotto on poikkeuksetta ollut erittäin innostunut ja tunnelma lämmin sekä klubeissa että festareilla!

J.LEINO & BLUES GUYS on julkaissut CD:n BLUES SKIES, mikä oli todellinen arvostelumenestys ja toi yhtyeen blues-yleisön tietoisuuteen myös muissa pohjoismaissa.
J.LEINO & BLUES GUYS on mukana kotimaisella blues-kokoelmalevyllä sekä ainoana ulkomaisena vierailijana CD:llä ALL THAT BLUES FROM SWEDEN, joten yhtyeen on muutamassa vuodessa löytänyt itsensä pohjoismaiselta huipulta.
J.LEINO & BLUES GUYS:in ohjelmistoon
kuuluu tuoretta city-bluesia. Don`t Hesitate cd ilmestyi syksyllä
1997!!!! Ja sai heti loistavan vastaanoton. Uusi levy on työn alla,
sisältäen paljon omaa Chicago-blues tuotantoa. Radio Mafian &
BN:n uudella kokoelmacd:llä kuultavissa oleva "Sawdust"-kappale antaa
esimakua tulevasta levystä. Englantilainen Blues&Rythm-lehti lokakuun
numerossaan (153) erityisesti suitsutti edellä mainittua kappaletta.
Myös Jefferson sekä suomalaiset alan julkaisut
ovat myöntäneet yhtyeen
tinkimättömän ja Suomessa ainutlaatuisen asenteen Blues-musiikkiin.
Uutta pitkäsoittoa voidaan
odottaa jo alkuvuodesta 2001.
