Turnpoints for WinPilot

About turnpoint files

Here you can download turnpoints to beloaded into an iPAQ hand held computer with WinPilotsoftware.

These turnpoints have been exported programmatically from my GliderPilot's database containing some specially selected countries (see below). Note that the turnpoints for a country are associated also to a certain region in country, so that you normally must also specify the region in order to get a unique set of turnpoints.

You can use Turnpoints&Tasks Manager (Select the desired Country and Region) in order to get detailed information of the turnpoints see these turnpoints on Google Maps.

Downloading the turnpoint files to your computer

Australia:

Tocumwal: WP_Australia_Tocumwal.zip

Airfields and airstrips: WP_Australia_airfields_and_airstrips.zip

Austria:

Wiener-Neustadt: WP_Austria_Wiener-Neustadt.zip

Czech:

WP_Czech.zip

Finland:

Räyskälä: WP_Finland_JWGC_2009.zip (last update on 13.5.2009). The coordinate data in this file is downloaded from Worldwide Soaring Turnpoint Exchange, which is the "official master database for Finland" as dictated by SIL/PT. Unhappily there are differences in coordinates between this set and the previously used (until 2008) competition turnpoints. This zipped file contains 2 turnpoint files with same turnpoints and coordinates for WinPilot. The only difference is that 1st file contains turnpoint names (with scandinavian chars retained) and 2nd file contains alias names of length 8 chars the first 3 chars being the turnpoint number.
