Dm8 - The Carrot
The Finnish Railways ordered in
1961-1962 12 pcs Dm8 railcars from Valmet Oy. The trains were
delivered in 1964 and 1965. Due to the colour they were called
"Carrots".
Model is build from 3D rapid prototype
parts, which are sold at Finnish
Railway Museum. All other components has to be built separately.
I ordered the tranmission and Bull-Ant -boggies from Hollywood Foundry.
Models are painted first with Gunze
Surfacer, grades 500, 1000 ja finally 1200. After that finish
with orange and white spray paint.
2. class seats are blue and 1.
first class orange.
The roof colour is aluminium.
