Tr2 - Truman

After the wars Finland had lost
many locos to Sovjet Union and Finnish Railways needed fast new
heavy freight locos. Finland managed to buy 20 locos from USA
in 1947, which were originally built for Sovjet Union (Russian
Decapods) but the order was cancelled. In Finland the engines
got the name "Truman" according to the president of
USA. The series was marked as Tr2. Numbers 1300-1309 was made
by Baldwin and 1310-1319 by ALCO.

Similar locos was delivered to
USSR more than 2000 units and Bachmann has made models of these
Russian Decapods. There are differencies in many places but the
frame and wheel set are identical.

The coversion is done with Kaj
Wikberg's brass and resin kit.

Black parts are from original model,
all others from conversion kit.

The boggies of the tender are different
type and distance between boggies is shorter.
