MAKETA (Layout, Dioram, Maquette)

The modeller can get here some ideas what kind of greek layouts can be planned, designed and built.Usually there are two choices, either to build a country-side layout or an urban layout.For the second choice must be found really existing locations with frequented railroad traffic,such as:
  • the city of Athina with the following items among others:

  • taxi station (yellow cabs)
  • buildings
  • normal gauge railway station for the mainland routes
  • narrow gauge railway station for the Peloponnissos routes

    Liveries

    In case you want to apply acrylic or enamel re-painting on your OSE models, have a look first on the European rail server in order to find out in which colours the Greek motive power and the rolling stock have been painted.

    Logos and Signs

    The modeller can find here later various colourful Greek decal examples of company logos, advertisment boards, traffic signs and other stuff, which can be printed out with any color inkjet printer, multiplied with any color copy machine in the nearest copy shop and finally sticked on vehicles or on static parts of any Greek layout.

    Terminology

    (still under construction)For the modeller are the technical expressions important, so that almost authentic advertising boards, warning signs and other labels for model buildings can be reproduced.Therefore a draft dictionary in graphical format (because not all netsurfers own the TrueType HellasTimes fonts) will be prepared in order to provide all necessary translations in english and german languages. By using copy and paste functions, re-painting in graphical computer applications and printing with any color ink jet printer on paper or on transparencies the problem of missing OSE-decals can be avoided.Additionally in the transliteration the accentuated vovels have been underlined letters for better pronounciationwhile communicating with native Greek modellers.The dictionary will be frequently corrected and updated, so choose any greek letter to search for expressions.

    Sound Compact Disk

    Rolf Stumpfhas produced a great sound CD recorded from hauling diesel locomotives in Greece powered by ALCo engines. This sound CD from Medienproduktion R. S. is really for every diesel fan.
