Use 7 to 8 grams of coffee powder (= one coffee measure) for every 60 millilitres of water.

Brew the coffee using an espresso coffee maker or a traditional stovetop espresso pan, following their instructions. An espresso maker gives a better result than a stovetop pan, but is, of course, a much more expensive buy.

Serve espresso black or sweetened from tiny cups.
