A password screen will appear. I've never tried using it for anything, but it may do what you want! Well I figured it out very easy where the password information is hidden. On the KN2000 (and others) you can 'set' your own password. Choose SAVE and shortly after you selected it press the 4th button (from the left) beyond the display (I think it is ACC1) SEVEN times quick. Then you are prompted for your private password. I entered (long time ago) 'QQ'. With my ATARI computer and the software programm 'Harlekin' and its HEX-ASCCI editor's search option it was very easy to locate the 'QQ' ! They were positioned in : The *.CMP file upper line the rightmost position The *.SQF file 2nd line third and fourth from the right. The *.TM file upper line 4th and 5th character from the left. Just change them (HEX) to '00' (zero zero) and the (mostly unwanted protection) is gone ! This information is about 5 years old (I have a KN5000 now) and most of us work with PC's now. Allmost everyone owns software with a HEX/ASCII editor e.g. PCTOOLS, NORTON UTILITIES or another HEX-editor .. good luck ! Before you start editing MAKE A COPY OF YOUR ORIGINAL DISK AND EDIT ON THE COPY ! Roel *~*~*~*~*~* For your information....just remove the passwords with a good HEX-DEC-Monitor, the other programs, like Norton-Commander can damage the files. Greetings, Jaap
