08.10.2010. The Steel Pan Lovers concert in Lohja Laurentius Hall is postponed to spring 2011. The date will be announced later.
Summer Tour 2010 is over. Nakkila City 14.07 was good and Kaustinen Folk Music Festival Night Concert on 15.07. was awesome.
Pori Jazz Kids Concerts on Sat and Sun were nice, too.
I believe the resurrection of the band is starting. I hope there are more gigs to come.

Steel Pan Lovers 3rd best band in European Steel Pan Festival in Paris in May
Lots of gigs to collect money for THE WORLD STEEL BAND MUSIC FESTIVAL
IN TRINIDAD&TOBAGO
and even more work on the TEST PIECE! (no comments about it!) and of course much work
on the two contest pieces of choice.
Four two day shooting sessions for a 16 part TV-serial
"The Handbook of a Human Being" by Markus Kajo
89 pieces altogeter were captured on video. It was quite a job!
Steel Pan Lovers as the smallest band in number of players reached the finals and
8th place in the first World Steel Band Music Festival in October in Trinidad&Tobago!
After the contest we arrived safely home and filmed the last 27 pieces for TV IN TWO DAYS!

On Thursday 5th August 1999 Steel Pan Lovers were playing as a warm-up band
for "the Four Masters", famous Finnish pop stars on their concert in Helsinki Olympic
Stadion. 35 000 spectators

VUOSI 2000 OLI MERKITTÄVÄ:
- Steel Pan Lovers tuli kolmanneksi ensimmäisillä Euroopan Steel Pan
Festivaleilla Pariisissa toukokuussa
- SPL keikkaili kovasti ja keräsi rahaa, jotta pääsisi THE WORLD
STEEL BAND MUSIC FESTIVAALEILLE Trinidadiin
- Työskenteli tuskastumiseen asti pakollisen TESTIKAPPALEEN kimpussa.
- Kilpailukappaleet olivat Pan in A Minor ja Finlandia.
- TV2:n Markus Kajon "Ihmisen Käsikirjan" 16 osan musiikit tehtiiin
kahdeksassa päivässä. Yhteensä 89 kappaletta. Oli aika urakka.
- Steel Pan Lovers pieninmpänä vain 26 soittajan voimin taisteli 60-henkisten maailman
parhaiden steelbandien kanssa, selvitti tiensä finaaliin ja lokakuussa pidetyn
maailman ensimmäisen Maailman Steelbandmusiikkifestivaalin kilpailussa saavutti
kahdeksannen sijan.
